My blog has just started to garner a bit of attention and already I am running into the phenomena of ‘reblogging.’ What the hell WordPress? I’ve searched in the forums and have seen that you allow this. I have found my content, my original, personally created content on some wierd ass sites that have exclusively reblogged content.
These sites where my writing appears, have created none of their own work. They just reblog posts from other blogs. Granted that it only takes a snippet of my post and provides a back link to my blog, but that’s not the point!
If my words and titles are on their site, does that influence search results? Am I losing traffic because what used to be my keywords and search terms are now associated with a spam blog that has commerical interests and can pay more money to be higher up in the search results?
Why would you allow this WordPress? And don’t tell me it was to make blogging easier. It was already pretty easy, it just takes time to generate consistent traffic and attract dedicated readers and followers. But blogging, by and large is pretty easy; it ain’t exactly digging ditches or working on a farm.
Press This wasn’t enough? Dig and Stumble Upon and the automatic Facebook update wasn’t enough? Twitter?
C’mon WordPress… this is just you blatantly allowing content theft.
